EAST BERKSHIRE - Louis Pierre Cyr, age 79, passed away peacefully, Sunday morning, August 4, 2024, at his home after courageously battling cancer and heart disease. Louis was one of 14 children, born on May 10, 1945, in Enosburg, Vermont, to Lorenzo Cyr and Doris Messier Cyr (Viens).
The antique collecting world in Northern Vermont lost one of its biggest fans. Louis was a lifelong enthusiast with an amazing knowledge of antiques and collectibles. His passion was going to sales, buying and selling. For many years he enjoyed traveling throughout the southwest which ignited his love for Native American art and culture, vintage jewelry, and flea market treasures. He also enjoyed his beautiful flower garden that surrounded his home.
He was family oriented, lived with his mother and helped her out until she passed away and remained close to all his siblings and their children. He was a loving brother, caring uncle, wonderful friend, generous gentleman, and charming character to those he encountered in his life. He lived a simple life. He was a true Vermonter who was well respected, deeply loved and will be missed by many.
Louis leaves behind his siblings: Roseanna Herbineaux of Tucson, Arizona; Judy Cyr of Orlando, Florida; Armond Cyr of Tucson, Arizona; Zeke Cyr of Alburgh, Vermont; Luke Cyr, Sr. of Tucson, Arizona; Mrs. Laurence (Donalda) Feraud of Orlando, Florida; Mrs. Leon (Lena) Brown of Enosburg Falls, Vermont, and Lorenzo Cyr and his partner Miguel Perez of Wells River, Vermont. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his lifelong friends Margo Sherwood and Earl Cole.
Louis was predeceased by Cecelia Cyr (1944), Jerry Cyr (1985), Clara Cyr (1990), Mary Chalifoux (2010), and Eugena Rodriguez (2012).
The family wishes to thank all the medical personnel, doctors and nurses at UVM Medical Center, Northwestern Medical Center, and Enosburg Notch for their outstanding care and loving support.
