RICHFORD- Louise R. Doe, age 91, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 in the apartment she loved at 44 Main St. in Richford.
The widow of Arthur C. Doe, she was the fourth daughter of the late Hibbard and Olive (Hicks) Guilmette of Richford.
Louise and Arthur along with their children Hibbard S., Francis P. and June were life-long residents of Richford. It was her love for children that led her to open their home to many children needing temporary parenting and to later become a Foster Grandmother at the Country School. She loved to bake and share those baked goods with family and friends, especially at 44 Main. She was also a communicant at All Saints.
She is survived by her sons, Hibbard and his wife, Claire of Richford and Francis of Canaan, VT; grandchildren, Hibbard J. of Richford, Loren A. and his wife, Sylvia of Berkshire, Steven and his wife, Margaret of Fairfield, Christina Charron and her husband, Alan, also of Berkshire, Monica Doe of Bronx, New York, Frank Gasasu of Boston, MA, SSG Anthony Mercure and his wife, Christina and her three children of Colorado Springs, Daniel and his wife, Holly of Sheldon and Celeste Malin of Richford; great grandchildren, Breanne and Alexandra Doe of Fairfield, Jeremy, Sarah and Evan Doe and Ryan, Alison and Derek Charron all of Berkshire and Dakota and Cheyenne Malin of Richford; special nieces, Hattie Mayotte and Kathleen DiPerna of Richford, Kellie Olio of Jay, Cheryl Jewett of Fairfield, Jackie Romanki and Lisa Millspaugh of New York, Carol Streeter of St. Albans, Debbie Bougerois of Swanton and several other nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Stetson, Lora Dougherty and Frances Pevo and her daughter, June Mercure.
Please join us Wednesday June 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, Main St., Richford officiated by Fr. Karl Hahr. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
