FRANKLIN - Lucille Lothian, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the St. Albans Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Belvidere on September 4, 1932, the daughter of the late Gordon Sr. and Vivian (Martin) LaFlame.
Lucille attended school in Franklin and graduated from Franklin High School. She married Merriman Lothian on May 14, 1954. Lucille worked part time for several local families as a care giver, several years for the post office in Franklin, and treasured her many years as a homemaker. She was an active member of the East Franklin Union Church and volunteer for the Franklin Senior Center, and Historical Cemetery Association. Lucille loved to travel, investigate back roads and cemeteries, bird watch, and spending time with her cherished granddaughter, Amy.
She is survived by her sons, Kim Lothian and Arthur Lothian both of Franklin; daughter, Patty Lothian of Swanton; granddaughter, Amy Tremblay and her husband Andrew of Sheldon; great-grandchildren, Riley and Bryce Tremblay and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, and great friends. Besides her parents, Lucille was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Merriman Lothian; their infant daughter, Kay; and brother and only sibling, Gordon LaFlame, Jr.
A Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at 11:00AM at the East Franklin Cemetery, VT Rte. 120, East Franklin, VT
