ENOSBURG FALLS - Margaret Bryce, age 81, passed away, Saturday afternoon, March 13, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her family at her side.
She was born September 20, 1928 in St. Albans the daughter of the late Fay F. & Gladys (Mercy) Duffy. On October 24, 1956 she married George Bryce Sr., her best friend and love of her life.
Margaret was a longtime resident of Enosburg Falls and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Ann. For a brief period she worked as a para-educator at the Enosburg Falls Elementary School. Most importantly she was a stay at home Mom who loved to cook not only for her family but the many kids in the neighborhood too.
She is survived by her children, George Bryce Jr. and his companion Diana Langle of Sheldon, Marlene Bryce Callan of Fairfield, Thomas Bryce and his wife Trudy of Enosburg Falls, Laurie Longe and her husband Charles of Sheldon, Edward Bryce and his wife Brenda of Enosburg Falls, and Edmund Bryce and his companion Peggy Lontine of Enosburg Falls; a son-in-law, James Laden and his wife Fannie of Fairfield; 19 grandchildren; 9 Great grandchildren; a brother, Thomas Duffy of Laguna Woods, CA. Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, George Bryce Sr. on March 16, 2002; a daughter, Fay M. Laden on March 16, 1993; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Duffy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Enosburg Falls with Rev. Daniel Jordan celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
