Margaret "Marge" Maynard

EAST FAIRFIELD - Margaret Mary Marge Maynard, age 81, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2015 at the St.Albans Health & Rehab Facility with her loving family at her side.

She was born March 28, 1934 in Flint Hill, Missouri the daughter of the late Hubert & Hulda (Freymuth) Niederer.

Marge attended St. Theodore Elementary School where she participated in most of the church and town functions. She graduated from Wentzville High School as Valedictorian of her class, participating in athletics and many choral groups. Marge was the happiest when she was around her family & friends. She worked in St. Louis, MO doing office work then as a payroll clerk in a garment factory in Wentzville. On June 18, 1955 she was joined in marriage at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Flint Hill, MO to John Maynard of Bakersfield, VT. In July of 1958 they moved to Bakersfield to raise their family and from 1969 to 1984 Marge and John along with their five children owned and operated Maynards Market in East Fairfield. Later she worked as Postmaster Replacement in East Fairfield for 14 years. Marge was a member of St. Anthony/St. Georges Catholic Church in East Fairfield and the St. Anthony Rosary Society.

Marge is survived by her husband John Maynard of East Fairfield; her children and their families, Doug Maynard, wife Donna of East Fairfield and their children, Trevor wife Jenny, Chris wife Leah their children, Noah & Calvin, and Shana Elwood her husband Adam and their children Andrew & Abygail, Debbie Maynard - Page and her husband, Michael Page of East Fairfield, Don Maynard of Greensboro Bend, his children, Brian & Victoria and Victorias son, Grayson, Dan Maynard his wife Patti of Crozet, VA, their children Samantha & Jack, Denise Bordo husband Scott of Enosburg Falls and their children, Gregg & Liza; sister, Genevieve Sherman and her husband William of Flint Hill, MO; her brothers & sisters-in-law, Leona Niederer of Flint Hill, MO, Norman Sleeper of St. Johnsbury, William Maynard and his wife Kathy of Springfield, VT; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Marge was predeceased by 3 infant children, Joseph, Mary & Margaret; her siblings and their spouses, Rose & Clarence Schulte, Joseph & Violet Niederer, Gregory & Mary Emma Niederer, Ethel & Gerald Briley, Kenneth Niederer, and Raymond & Alice Niederer; her sisters-in-law and their husbands, Marjorie & Lesley Bullis, Blanche & Landon Gelbar, Rhoda & Neil McGinn, Marie Sleeper, and Pauline & Bernard Tanner.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM at St. Anthony/St. Georges Catholic Church, 9491 Vermont Route 36, East Fairfield with Rev. William Giroux & Rev. Roger Charbonneau con-celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will be held later this spring in St. Georges Cemetery in Bakersfield.

Visiting hours will be held Monday, April 6, 2015 from 4-7 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
