Margaret Michel

December 13, 1932 — February 21, 2011

ST. ALBANS - Margaret Mary Michel, age 78, passed away Monday, February 21, 2011 at the Franklin County Rehab Facility in St. Albans with her loving family at her side and there in spirit also with her was a special niece, Robin Larivee.

She was born December 13, 1932 in Cowansville, Que. Canada the daughter of the late James & Mary (McKeller) Lyons.

Margaret attended school in East Farnham, Quebec and moved to Vermont in 1953, living in Richford until 1965 when she moved to Vergennes until 1973. She then made her home in St. Albans until 1990 when she moved to Canada to help her sister operate her nursing home in Pierrefonds, Quebec, moving back to St. Albans in 1992.

Margaret worked as a line cook for several businesses including Redstone Villa and the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans. She also owned and operated Michels Restaurant in St. Albans. Margaret loved to walk, visit with people, and clean her home. She especially loved to prepare special meals for her family. Her family will remember her for her kind heart that she had for children and the elderly.

She is survived by her children, Ann Pecor of St. Albans, Paul Michel and his companion, Sheila Wilson of Enosburg Falls, Rose Wolff and her husband John of Ocala, FL, Tom Michel and his companion Jeany Begnoche of St. Albans, Tim Michel and Dennis Michel both of St. Albans; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; her siblings, Esther Lyons, Roseanne Parcell, Josie Duquette , Doreen Lyons, Theresa Remillard and Mike Lyons all of Canada; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her siblings, Jimmy, Joe & Betty Lyons; and the father of her children, Paul Michel.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25, 2011 at 1:00 pm at All Saints Catholic Church, 152 Main St., Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.

Visiting hours will be held Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
