Marie Broe

RICHFORD - Marie Helen Broe, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at her home in Berkshire.

She was born in Richford on February 26, 1928 to the late Maurice & Beulah (Schofield) Longey.

Marie graduated from Richford High School and was a life-long resident of Richford. During her working career she was employed at the Atlas Plywood Mill. On May 21, 1951 she married the love of her life, Charles H. Broe. Marie was a member of the Richford 1st Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #12 in Richford. She spent many happy hours there with her friends. To know her was to love her as she was; never without an answer and always making someone laugh. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Joseph & Laura Broe of Berkshire, Timothy & Patty Broe of Sheldon and Peggy & Jeff Clark of Berkshire; step-children, Ernest & Ina Broe of Cornwall and Judy Butler of Richford; a daughter-in-law, Patty Broe of Richford; 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Marie was predeceased by her husband Charles Broe; her son, Brian Pete Broe; her grandson, Thomas Gleason III; step son-in-law, Jerry Butler and 6 brothers, Hugh, Glenn, Felix, Leonard, Delmar & Gerald Longey.

In keeping with Maries wishes, a graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Hillside Cemetery, Golf Course Rd., Richford with pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating.

Friends are invited to Happy Hour in honor of Marie on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 1-4 PM at the American Legion Post #12, River St., Richford.
