ENOSBURG FALLS- Marion Kay Kennison, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Franklin County Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans.

She was born in Fletcher on December 27, 1928 to the late Philip and Hazel (Carey) Morgan.

Marion grew up in the beautiful landscapes of Northern Vermont, moving wherever her father's job guided the family. It was during this time that she met Darrel Kennison, in school, sparking a romance. They embraced their undeniable connection and were united in marriage on October 16, 1948.

As a skilled beautician, Marion followed her passion and established her own successful business, serving the community that she loved with her talent for over three decades. She was a dedicated member of the Enosburg Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, lending her time and talents to support various causes, served as a Justice of the Peace, and was a member of the local Red Hat Society.

In her leisure time, Marion found solace at the family camp on Lake Carmi. She reveled in the joy of reading historical fiction, allowing her imagination to transport her to different eras and places. Marion also enjoyed playing golf and cheering on her favorite sports teams, the NY Yankees, and NY Giants.

It was not just music to Marion's ears, but also her soul. Being a gifted musician on the keyboard, her talent resonated with her father's banjo playing and her sons' musical pursuits. She witnessed her sons' band flourish and stood as a pillar of unwavering support. Marion's musical tastes were diverse and her appreciation for a variety of genres filled many joyful and poignant moments throughout her life.

Marion possessed a fierce independence that permeated every aspect of her being. Her strength and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. She approached life with grace and resilience, overcoming challenges with unwavering resolve.
