"Mark was very proud of his sons and their accomplishments. He enjoyed living in Vermont, and watching his kids grow and play sports. He spent hours around the house and walking in the woods thinking up new ways to improve the familys home. He was happy to see each of his sons in turn join the United States Navy. He was very enthusiastic and excited to be experiencing the joys of being a grandfather.
Words cannot begin to describe who Mark was as a man. He cared about everything that he did. He accomplished so much in his short time with us. Mark is watching us right now from heaven with one of his heartfelt smiles. He touched many lives and will continue to do so as people share their stories and memories. Anyone who knew Mark knows that his sprit will surround us forever and he will continue to teach through his loving family and many friends.
Saying that Mark was an extremely smart person would be an understatement. If you talk with people that knew him well, you are sure to hear stories that start with Im not sure whats wrong and end with Yea, and Mark figured it out. He spent his life learning, and teaching to anyone who would listen. He lived by saying that he would tell his kids often, If another man can do it, I can do it. That was a fitting description of how Mark lived his life. He never came across a project that he couldnt tackle, and if it was broken he would always find a way to fix it. His voice will never be silenced and he lives on through those closest to him.
Being a private man, Im sure he would have reservations about an obituary that was trying to tell his story, for it would take volumes to even break the surface of a man like Mark. For those who were lucky enough to have known this special man, knew that we lost a loving son, husband, father, brother and grandfather."
