Marlene McGowan

ENOSBURG FALLS - Marlene McGowan, age 74, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at her home in Enosburg Falls.

She was born in Burlington on November 2, 1950, to the late Arthur & Alberta (Mayotte) McGowan.

A life-long resident of the area, and proud graduate of Franklin High School's Class of 1969, Marlene was known for her warm smile and generous heart. She made a lasting impact through her ownership of Saints Quick Stop in East Berkshire, a beloved gathering place from June 1991 until April 2001. Her dedication to serving the community extended far beyond the doors of her shop.

In July 1986, Marlene moved into Val's Trailer Park, where she quickly became an integral part of the neighborhood. Her friendly demeanor and willingness to lend a helping hand made her a beloved figure among her neighbors and friends.

Marlene leaves behind a legacy of kindness and community spirit that will not be forgotten. Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Brenda McGowan; her best friends, Charyl Greenia, Carrie Brown (Care Bear), and Billi Jo Ryea who was like a daughter to Marlene; and many friends in the community. Marlene was predeceased by her parents, Arthur & Alberta McGowan; her sister, Theresa Crothers; and her beloved dog, Brodie.

In keeping with her wishes, Marlene will be laid to rest in the West Enosburgh Cemetery privately.
