RICHFORD - Mary Ella Lawyer, age 84, passed away peacefully Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans surrounded by her loving family.
She was born November 10, 1927 in Middlebury the daughter of the late Donald & Hazel (Otis) Lang.
Mary was born and raised in Middlebury, where she graduated high school. Shortly after graduation she moved to the Richford area where she met her husband Warren Lawyer. Mary and Warren made their home in Richford where they raised two children. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Mary had a passion for helping others, she was a foster grandparent for the Richford Country and Elementary Schools and retired as a nurses aid from Franklin County Home Health Agency. She also was a firm believer in angels and took great pride in her collection of them.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Cote and her husband Cedric of Richford; her son, David Lawyer and his wife Tonya of Bristol; her Grandchildren, Marina Wetherby and her husband Carl of Richford, Melissa Lawyer and her significant other Dan Richardson of Richford, Todd Lawyer and his wife Robin of St. Albans and Samantha Shultz of Bristol; her Great Grandchildren, Jordan, Sydney, Joey and Autumn Lawyer, Marissa and Derrick Tessier, Ashley Wetherby, Jeremey Wright and Kaylie Richardson. Besides her parents Mary was predeceased by her husband, Warren Lawyer; a brother, Clayton Lang and his wife Wanda; and a special friend Lucy Gokey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 22, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Richford 1st Baptist Church, 30 School St., Richford with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will follow in the East Franklin Cemetery.
