Maurice Longley

January 25, 1953 — February 26, 2010

WEST BERKSHIRE - Maurice H. Moe Longley, age 57, passed away unexpectedly Friday, February 26, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born January 25, 1953 in Meridan, CT the son of Ralph Longley and the late Marilyn (McKinney) Longley.

Maurice was a resident of the area most of his life and was a 1971 graduate of Enosburg Falls High School. He drove truck for McDermotts for many years. He had also driven for Pike, Red Head, S.T. Griswold,

He enjoyed music and for many years played bass guitar for many bands including, Conrad Samuels Band, and the Keegan Nolan Band. Through the years, Maurice played many benefits to help those in need. He also enjoyed the time spent on the farm with his special friend, Pete Soule.

His many enjoyments included logging, truck driving, ice fishing with Lester Derry, and car racing. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his companion, Debra Austin of West Berkshire; his children, Stacie Manchester of Sheldon, James Longley and his friend Deanna Royea of Berkshire, Derek Austin of Sheldon; his grandchildren, Emilie, Kailie, Taylor, Aliyah, Madison & Alivia; his father, Ralph Longley and his friend Olive White of Berkshire; his brother and his wife, Larry & Janet Longley of Berkshire; and his former wife, Cathy Longley of Sheldon. He was predeceased by his mother, Marilyn Longley

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Enosburg Falls.

Visiting hours will be held Monday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
