RICHFORD - Melba Waneta Ryea, 66, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at her home in South Richford with her loving family at her side. She was born in Dunkin, Quebec, Canada March 19, 1944, the daughter of the late Loren and Belle (Searles) Fuller.
She was a longtime resident of Richford and enjoyed spending time with family and many friends; she especially loved time with her grandchildren - Jessie, Trever, Samantha, Christopher, Madison, Thomas, Alex and Aiden and her great grandson Odin. Melba was dedicated to her family and took great pride in watching their accomplishments through the years. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed feeding the wild birds that frequented her home, took great enjoyment in watching the Food Network and her many chats with Marilyn and other visitors. Spending winters in Florida with her friend Dianne was something she always looked forward to and brought her great joy. A simple woman, Melba loved life and family.
She is survived by her children, Michael Fuller of Richford, Eugene George Ryea Jr. and his wife, Holly, of Richford, Alan Ryea and his wife, Sarily, of Milton, Stacey (Ryea) St. Onge and her husband Randall of Montgomery, and Jody Ryea and his fianc, Annie Stetson, of Richford; brothers Walter Fuller of Brownville Jct., ME and Bruce Fuller and his wife Sharon of Richford; sisters-in-law Jean Fuller and Bonnie Ellis of Richford; her beloved grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Besides her parents she was predeceased by
her husband Eugene Jug Ryea Sr.; sisters Josephine Boyce and her husband Errol and Beverly Mercy and her husband John; brothers Lloyd Pug Fuller and Lyle Shag Fuller; and sister-in-law Ardis Fuller.
I keeping with Melbas wishes there will be no calling hours and her life was celebrated at a graveside service on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Richford Center Cemetery.
