Michael Davis Maskell

July 28, 1955 — July 15, 2017

Michael Davis Maskell, age 61 years, a lifelong area resident died suddenly Saturday, July 15, 2017, at his Carter Hill residence.

Born in St. Albans on, July 28, 1955, he was the son of the late Frederick and Barbara (Curtis) Maskell. He was a 1973 graduate of Missisquoi Valley Union High School and furthered his education at the Community College of Vermont. On, August 23, 1980, he was married to the former Marie Gagne who survives him.

He had been employed for several years with the Mylan Technologies, Inc..

Mike faithfully served his country as a Captain in the Vermont Army National Guard and also served as treasurer for the American Legion Riders.

Mike enjoyed motorcycle riding with Marie, spending time with his children and grandchildren and was especially well known for playing Santa Clause throughout the area at Christmas time. He held a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and volunteered for Relay for Life.

In addition to his wife Marie, Mike leaves two sons, Ryan Maskell and his wife Ashley and Dan Tremblay and his wife Angie all of Swanton; two daughters, Heather Maskell and fianc David Graves II of Swanton and Samantha Maskell of Highgate Springs; two sisters, Cheryl Fregeau and husband Richard and Carol Berthiaume and partner Richard Conley all of Highgate Springs; grandchildren, Raven Graves, Aiden Bessette, Jasper Graves, Adasyn Maskell, Raelyn Maskell and Angel Tremblay; One great grandson, Cayson Tremblay as well as many nieces nephews, cousins and good friends including longtime family friends, Ron and Cheryl Rogers and family.

A Funeral Service with military honors will be held Monday, July 24, 2017, at 2 p.m. from The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Ave, Swanton. The Reverend Anne Torrance Bachmann will officiate.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m.
