RICHFORD - Myrtle M. Bergeron, age 78, passed away Tuesday evening September 23, 2008 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans with her loving family at her side.
She was born July 3, 1930 in Enosburg Falls the daughter of the late Winthrop & Beatrice (Lumbra) Towle.
Myrtle was a lifelong homemaker and most importantly a mother and grandmother to her family. Myrtle married Jean Guy Bergeron in February of 1952 in St. Albans ending in divorce in 1975. She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 12 of Richford. She loved playing scratch tickets and in her earlier years, pull tickets at the Legion.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Bergeron of St. Johnsbury, Bette Paquette and her partner Duane Ovitt of Bakersfield, Susan Stephens and her husband Larry of Richford, and Jeffrey Bergeron and his wife Debbie of Richford; her grandchildren, Jeremy Paquette, Nathan Paquette, Jordan Greenwood, Patrick Stephens, and Dylan Stephens; great granddaughters, Breanna & Autumn Paquette; her siblings, Wellington Sonny Towle and his wife Theresa of St. Albans, and Linda Van Gieson and her husband Merle of Montgomery; her step brother, John Feltus and his wife Ingrid of Germany & Florida; her sister-in-law, Leona Towle of Fulton, NY; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Winthrop Towle; her mother, Beatrice (Lumbra) Towle - Feltus; step father, Charles Feltus; siblings, Rowland Towle, Janice Lafontaine, and Betty Towle; her brothers-in-law, George Lafontaine, and Lucias Wright; great grandson, Jeremy Paquette Jr.; and the father to her children, Jean Guy Bergeron
Myrtles family would like to give special thanks to the Franklin County Home Health Agency for their help given to Myrtle at her home over the last few years. Also, thanks to the nursing staff, ICU staff and Dr. Cochrane at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
Funeral services will b held Saturday September 27, 2008 at 1:00 PM at All Saints Catholic Church in Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM at the Spears Funeral Home 140 Main St., Richford.
