Myrtle Longey

RICHFORD - Myrtle Irene Longey, age 90, passed away Thursday September 3, 2009 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans with her loving daughter at her side.
She was born in Morrisville, New York on May 21, 1919 the daughter of the late Wells & Maude Northrup.
Myrtle was a resident of Richford for the past 64 years and was a former resident of Burlington, VT and New York. She worked as a nurses aide at several nursing homes in New York.
Myrtle enjoyed playing piano and listening to music. She loved animals especially her cats.
She was a loving mother to her children who survive her, Brenda Longey of Richford and Kenneth Longey of Barton; her sister-in-law, Marie Broe of Richford; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Myrtle was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Felix Longey. Myrtle & Felix were married July 28, 1942. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Mildred Perrigo, Marion Smith, Laura Campanella and Mable Sikes; and a brother, Charles Northrup.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Hillside Cemetery in Richford with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
