HIGHGATE – Nancy L. Flint, age 79, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2021 surrounded by her devoted and loving family at her home in Highgate.
She was born in St. Albans on December 16, 1941 to the late Hollis & Imelda (Robistow) Boudreau.
Nancy was raised in Highgate and attended Highgate schools. She attended Champlain College and then moved to Montpelier where she worked for the State of Vermont as a Secretary. She attended a barn dance in West Thompson, VT that changed her life forever. This is where she met Royce Flint, her life partner. They moved from Williamstown in 1969 and started their life together on the farm on the Gore Road in Highgate. They had four wonderful children. Nancy loved kids, which was proven by her 40-year career at Missisquoi Valley Union High School and the four years she devoted to being a Foster Grandparent in Highgate and Sheldon Schools. She was very involved in the community. She was a long-time parishioner of the St. Louis Catholic Church, Church of the Nativity, and many years as part of the Ladies of St. Anne in Highgate and Williamstown. Nancy was also proud to be involved in the Union Committee at MVU, Highgate Alumni Class of ’59, and the Highgate Historical Society. Nancy loved to travel. She looked forward to trips to Maine with Charlie, and her grandchildren, for the Lobster fest, and regular getaways with her close group of MVU travel friends. She loved to read, play slot machines, the color purple, square dancing, but most of all to be surrounded by her family and friends. Nancy brought the family together in her warm and cozy kitchen, making great food and memories.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Flint and his wife Kim of Highgate, Kevin Flint and his wife Betsy of Highgate, and Jason Flint and his fiancée Sandy Reed of Eddington, Maine; grandchildren, Andrew Girroir, Sarah Bromley and her husband Cecil, Elizabeth Sweet and her husband Tyler, Megan Flint and her boyfriend Cody Kennison, Ashley Vosteen and her husband Tyler, Laura Hart and her husband Ryan, Michealla Flint and her boyfriend Kurt Remlin, Ethan Flint, Nicholas Flint, Zachary Roy and Nadiyah Roy; 7 great grandchildren; siblings, William Boudreau and Brenda Laroche and her husband Gilles; daughter-in-law, Tamra Barnes-Keaton; sister-in-law, Janet Flint; special friends, Donna Parah, Evangeline LaRocque, and Charlie Cline; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Royce Flint in 1990; her son, Keith Flint; a granddaughter, Samantha Flint; a nephew, Christopher Laroche; sister-in-law, Shirley Flint; brother-in-law, Robert Flint; and special friends, Esther Choiniere and Carol Parah.
