EAST BERKSHIRE - Nellie F. Hoadley, age 98, passed away Friday evening, May 29, 2015 at the Franklin County Rehab Center in St. Albans with her family at her side.
She was born in Abbotts Corners, Quebec Canada on November 25, 1916 the daughter of the late Howard & Mabel (Tracy) Goodhue.
Nellie was a resident of Berkshire most of her life and a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in East Berkshire where she was very active teaching Sunday School and hosting Bible Studies. She was also a member if the Berkshire Historical Society. Nellie enjoyed fishing, gardening, and wood working. She had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel.
She is survived by her children, Dorothy Lamoureux and her husband Paul of Berkshire, James Hoadley and his wife Alice of Vineland, NJ, and Patrick Hoadley and his wife Martha of East Bekrshire; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Nellie was predeceased by her husband Donald Hoadley; brothers, Claire & Lawrence Goodhue; and sisters, Lois Goodhue & Irene McGrath.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 1, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment followed in the East Berkshire Congregation Cemetery.
A time of visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
