Norman Lamothe

SWANTON — Norman A. Lamothe, age 82, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his home in Swanton surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on April 30, 1942 to Fred and Marie (Bechard) Lamothe.

Norman worked on the family farm in his younger years. Norman’s journey took him from Vermont to Florida and Kentucky, before finally settling back in Vermont. Norman worked in excavation before finding his true passion in the field of automotive mechanics, where he became known for his skill and reliability. He navigated life with his beloved wife Monique by his side for 58 cherished years. Monique, who predeceased him, was the heart of their family and together they created a loving home. Throughout his life, he cherished spending time with his grandchildren, taking great joy in watching them grow and thrive. His love for life was evident in his enthusiasm for dining out and indulging his sweet tooth. Known for his stubbornness, strength, and unwavering support, Norman was a rock for his family and friends alike.

Norman is survived by his children, Michelle “Mimi” Price of Tamarac, FL, Mark Lamothe and his wife Erika of Swanton, and MonaLisa Schroeder and her husband Chris of Royal Palm Beach, FL; grandchildren, Savannah Lamothe, Brooke Lamothe, Natascha Schroeder, and Braxton Schroeder; brothers, Raymond Lamothe, Armand Lamothe, Edmund Lamothe and Edward Lamothe and his wife, Tammy; sisters-in-law, Jeannine Guillette; and several nieces & nephews. In addition to his parents, Norman was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Monique Lamothe; son-in-law, James Price; and brothers-in-law, Marcel Guillette, Guy Laroche; sister-in-law, Karen Lamothe.

Friends and family are invited to Norman’s Life Celebration on Friday, March 14th, 2025 to include visitation from 4-5:00 PM with a memorial service starting at 5:00 PM at the Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT.
