ENOSBURG FALLS - Patricia A. Atherton, age 70, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at her residence with her loving family at her side.
She was born February 24, 1948 in Burlington, the daughter of the late Leo & Wanda (Fanton) Couture.
Patricia was a longtime resident of Vermont and had worked at Champion Jog Bra, Inc for 5 years and then became an LNA working for the VNA caring for people on hospice. She retired to Plant City, FL, moving back to Vermont after becoming ill 2 ½ years ago. Pat enjoyed cooking for her family but most of all loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the light of her life. Her face would light up every time she saw them.
She is survived by her husband, David Atherton of Enosburg Falls; her children, David Couture of Highgate, and Tina Ovitt and her husband Darren of Bakersfield; her step children, Tina Perry and her husband Norm of Berlin, NH, Lisa Raymond and her husband Edward of St. George, and Sherrie Lucia of Richmond; 16 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; her siblings, Lea Goulet and her partner William West of Hinesburg, Marie Lamore and her husband James of TN, Nancy Bigue and her husband Richard of NH, Diane Richard and her friend Alan of Isle LaMotte, Brenda Seymour and her husband Gary of Newport, Deborah Ailinger and her husband Mark of MA, Mary Kittell and her husband Phillip of Hinesburg, Darlene Chamberlin and her husband Kevin of Jeffersonville, Pamela Bass of NH, Leo Couture and his wife Joy of Jeffersonville, and Wanda Audet and her husband Brian of Morrisville; many nieces and nephews.
Pats family wish to thank the nurses and staff at Franklin County Home Health Agency for the care and compassion shown to Pat and her family during her illness.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls. Interment will take place in the Hinesburg Village Cemetery, Mechanicsville Road, Hinesburg on Friday June 22nd at 2:00 PM.
A time of visitation will be held at the Spears Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
