ENOSBURG FALLS - Patricia M. Stanley, age 94, passed away Monday morning September 13, 2010 at the St. Albans Health Care & Rehab Center.
She was born November 9, 1915 in Enosburgh, VT. the daughter of the late Philo & Cora (Orr) Stanley.
She attended Enosburg Falls High School graduating in 1933 and then attended the University of Vermont 1933-1937 graduating Cum Laude as well as earning two Master Degrees, ME and MAT. She was also a member Phi Beta Kappa. She served in US Navy from 1943-1947 receiving and honorable discharge with the rank of LT Commander. She then taught Math for 38 years, first at Brigham Academy in Bakersfield from 1937-1943 and then at Milton High School from 1944-1975 when she retired.
She was a member of United Methodist Women of the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church, WAVES National, Delta Kappa Gamma, Order Eastern Star Martha Washington Chapter #44, Daughters of the American Revolution Capt. Jedediah Hyde Chapter, and the Vermont Retired Teacher Association.
She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Adams of Rutland, and Jean Spaulding of Lenni, PA; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday September 24, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Enosburg Falls United Methodist Church with Rev. Jon Bly officiating. Interment will follow in the Enosburgh Center Cemetery. At Patricias request there will be no visiting hours.
