Patrick M. Lavely

June 28, 1955 — October 29, 2021

HIGHGATE CENTER – Patrick M. Lavely, age 66, passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021 at his home in Highgate.

He was born in St. Albans on June 28, 1955 to the late Norman & Nancy (Miller) Lavely.

Pat grew up in Berkshire and later graduated from Enosburg Falls High School class of 1973. Shortly after high school Pat enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served until 1978. While in the Air Force Pat found his first love, mechanics. He was a diesel and motorcycle mechanic for most of his life. He worked for Burlington Harley-Davidson for years, and later started his own motorcycle shop where he would repair and build bikes. For the past several years he worked as a diesel mechanic for Barrett’s Trucking.

Pat was the type of guy who never met a stranger. His selfless lifestyle and desire to help anyone in need connected him with many people throughout the course of his life. He served on the Berkshire Volunteer Fire Department in the past, and he never drove past a vehicle that broke down on the side of the road. He remained close with his classmates, and reconnected with the love of his life, Faith, at a class reunion. Faith and Pat married on June 2, 2019. Pat also had a love for animals, especially his dogs.

He leaves behind his wife, Faith Lavely of Highgate Center; six siblings, John Lavely, Kary Best and her husband Brett, Steven Lavely and his wife Diane, Douglas Lavely and his wife Natalie, Noreen Pierce and her husband Ron, and Stephanie Newton and her husband Mike; 15 nieces & nephews; and several great nieces & nephews. Pat was predeceased by his parents, Norman & Nancy Lavely; his mother-in-law, Shirley Tompkins; and Faith’s son, Mark Shaw-Holt.
