NORTH HERO - Paul Gardener Cheeseman, age 83, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the Franklin County Rehabilitation Center in St. Albans at 3:17 in the morning.
He was born in Burlington on September 6, 1936, the son of the late Aaron and Clara (Savage) Cheeseman.
Paul served in the U.S. Navy and married Margaret Carolyn Wightman on November 10, 1955. He was a certified kitchen designer and owned his own design business. Paul was a devout and proud member of The Church of Latter-day Saints, the American Legion Post 1 in St. Albans, and the Alburgh Country Club where he spent countless summer days golfing. He also loved spending time outside hunting and fishing.
Paul was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carolyn (Wightman) Cheeseman; son, Malcolm Cheeseman and his wife Rose of North Hero; daughters, Susan McDonald and her husband Jonathan of Georgia, Sherry Siebenaler and her husband Roger of North Hero, and Jennie Isaacson and her husband Alan of Reno, NV; grandchildren, Emily McDonald, Molly McDonald, Justin McDonald, Ian McDonald, Aaron Cheeseman, Dallin Isaacson, Lorna Isaacson, and Langdon Isaacson; siblings, Wayne Cheeseman, Alan Clark and his wife Ruth Ann, and Patricia Grether; and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of Pauls family at the Hazen West View Cemetery in North Hero.
