Berkshire - Paul Emile Paradis, 52, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 12, 2011 at his home on Mineral Brook Road following a long battle with ALS.
Paul was born on May 29, 1958 in St. Albans, the son of Rosaire and Vivian (Vachon) Paradis and was a graduate of Richford High School.
Paul served in the US Army from 1978 to 1985 and, as a member of the Vermont Army National Guard, from 1986 to 2008. He was a civilian employee of the National Guard in St. Albans from 1987 to 2008 where he worked as a mechanic. He especially enjoyed hunting and horse racing and was a member of American Legion Post # 42 in Enosburg Falls and the United States Trotting Association.
In addition to his parents, Rosaire and Vivian Paradis of Berkshire, Paul is survived by his wife, Susan (Begnoche) Paradis of Berkshire; a daughter Abigail of Berkshire; his brothers, Leo Paradis and wife Barbel of Berkshire, Albert Paradis and wife Dawn of Berkshire, Richard Paradis and friend Darlene of Enosburg, Joe Paradis and friend Stephanie of Texas and Charlie Paradis of North Carolina; his sisters Claudette Fleury of Enosburg, Lisa Kane of Essex and Helen Millinor of North Carolina; his nephews, Andre, Jonathan, Jeff, Sean, Kregg, Kasey, Jacob and Branden; his nieces, Kylie, Shannon, Megan, Laura and Jessica; mother and father-in-law, Therese and Gaston Begnoche of Montgomery Center and his brothers-in-law Marcel Begnoche and wife Naomi of Highgate and Armand Begnoche and wife Mikal of Bozeman, MT.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Road, Montgomery Center with Rev. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of Pauls family in St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center. Friends are invited to call at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls on Sunday, April 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
