Paul Zera

ISLE LA MOTTE - Paul F. Zera, age 79, passed away on Thursday, May 18th, 2023, at home with family by his side.

He was born in Bayonne, New Jersey on February 20th, 1944, to the late Joseph and Frances (Surawski) Zera.

Paul graduated from Bayonne Technical High School in 1961. Following high school, Paul entered the United States Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. Shortly after leaving the United States Air Force, Paul went to work as a technician for phone companies, NJ Bell, and AT&T for 31 years. Paul married his wife who pre-deceases him, Jane (Christiansen) Zera on November 26, 1978. Retiring in 1999, Paul moved to Vermont. He was a volunteer with the Isle La Motte fire department for many years and served on the select board. Paul loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, spending time with friends and his beloved dog Wilson.

He is survived by his son, Mark Zera and his wife Toree of Alburgh; and special friends, Ned and Matt Spears, Bruce Noble, Dan Rainville, Jackie Looney, Joanne & Mark Martin, Ember & Stacy Boyle, Peggy Matzer, Ray Allen, Randi & Ron LaBusch, Todd & Lisa Keyworth, and many other special friends.

In respecting Paul's wishes, services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
