RICHFORD - Phyllis E. Johnson, age 74, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2012 at her home.

She was born May 25, 1937 in Newark, VT the daughter of the late Oscar W. & Alberta M. (Howard) Simpson.

Phyllis attended elementary school in Sutton and was a graduate of Lyndon High School. She was employed at Northland Hockey Stick Factory in Richford for nearly four years and then cleaned homes in the Richford area for many years.

Phyllis loved animals especially birds and horses and as a young woman she enjoyed horseback riding. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens and canning.
Most of all she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Durwood Johnson of Richford. Phyllis & Durwood were married on May 10, 1963. She is also survived by her daughters, Bonnie M. Wilson and her husband Asa Jr. and Laura L. Royea and her husband Kevin all of Richford; her granddaughters, Hannah, Amanada & Sarah Wilson, Crystal, Deanna & Lacey Royea, her grandson, Kevin Royea Jr.; her great grandchildren, Taylor Jette, Chloe Robitaille, Tristan Breault, Alivia Aldrich, Riley Blow, Gage Wheelock, Alexis Longley and Aspen Jade Longe who will be born in 2 weeks. Besides her parents, Phyllis was predeceased by her beloved grandson, SGT Joshua Johnson who was killed in action on January 25, 2006 in Ramadi, Iraq.

Funeral services will be held Monday 7, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
