RICHFORD - Ralph A. Mayotte, age 89, passed away Friday evening November 12, 2010 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
Ralph was born April 24, 1921 in Morrisville, VT the son of the late, Edward & Eva (Longley) Mayotte.
Ralph was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. When he was younger he worked for the Franklin County Soil Conservation and then for Wrights Dairy in Enosburg Falls, driving truck and delivering milk prior to becoming the office manager. Following his retirement he worked for his son at Mayotte Construction where he enjoyed operating heavy equipment.
Ralph was involved in the Richford community holding several town offices. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and former member of the American Legion Post # 12 of Richford. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and playing cards. He also had a love of animals, especially his dogs.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Hattie (Paxman) Mayotte of Richford. Ralph & Hattie were married on July 28, 1952. He is also survived by a daughter and her husband, Jane & Marc Lariviere of Richford; his grandchildren, Nicholas Boylan, Rossie Mayotte & Ethan Mayotte; daughter-in-law, Beverly Mayotte of Berkshire; a sister, Glendora Mayotte of Richford; 1 nephew and several nieces. Besides his parents, Ralph was predeceased by his son, Timothy Mayotte on December 8, 2003; 2 brothers, Elmer & Richard Mayotte; and 2 sisters, Mamie Hurtubise & Alberta McGowan.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday November 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, Main St., Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in the Richford Center Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held Monday evening from 6-9 at the Spears Funeral Home 140 Main St., Richford
