Montgomery Center - Ralph Edward Snider, 85, a resident of Main Street in Montgomery Center died on Wednesday evening, October 28, 2009, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ralph was born on January 4, 1924 in Westfield, VT, the son of Harry and Mae (Ducharme) Snider. He attended schools in Westfield and on October 29, 1945 married Theresa B. Domina.
In his earlier years, Ralph was self employed and hauled milk and logs. Later he was employed at Elmwood Dairy for many years, delivering milk door to door. Ralph drove school bus to Lamoille, Enosburg and Montgomery for many years. He was last employed at Ole Livery Hardware where he worked many years before retiring in 1998.
Ralph was a communicant of St. Isidores Church in Montgomery Center where he served as an usher for a number of years. He was a former member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. Ralph loved bowling and, also, was a baseball and football fan and former card player. He especially loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and always looked forward to their visits.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Theresa B. (Domina) Snider of Montgomery Center, Ralph is survived by a grandson and his wife Bruce J. and Heather Snider, Jr. of St. Albans; 2 granddaughters Jaime Tatro and her husband Michael of St. Albans and Holly Knox of Swanton; his great grandchildren Phoebe Knox, Bruce Snider, III, Hannah Mae Tatro, Laci Mae Snider and Emily Snider; step great grandchildren Mikayla, Logan, Brittany, Ashley and Sebastian; his brother Edward Snider of Sheldon; his sister Marguerite Warner of Lowell; a daughter-in-law Julie Snider of Swanton; 2 brothers-in-law and their wives Cedric and Jeanette Domina and Gerald and Simone Domina all of Easthampton, MA; 4 sisters-in-law Phyllis Brown of Holyoke, MA, Gila Domina of Montgomery; Theresa Snider of Richford and Betsy Snider of Montgomery. In addition to his parents, Ralph was predeceased by a son Bruce J. Snider and his siblings Clifford Snider, Mabel Baraw, Raoul Snider, Ernest Snider and Leland Snider.
The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:00 at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center with the Rev. Karl A. Hahr, Pastor officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center. Friends are invited to call at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls on Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
