MONTGOMERY - Randy J. Poirier, age 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.
He was born in St. Albans on September 27, 1955 to Beverly (Brooks) Poirier and the late James Everett Poirier.
Randy was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and excelled in many areas in his life. He was an excellent string instrument musician; he played the banjo, guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. Randy always said "If there's no banjo's in Heaven I ain't going!" Randy also loved being around and taking care of horses, and being out in the woods hunting or sugaring with his cousin and best friend Terry Malone. He worked at the toy factory in Montgomery, the asbestos mines in Eden and Lowell, and the Wright Dairy Farm in Enosburgh.
He is survived by his mother, Beverly (Brooks) Poirier; his brothers, Harvey Poirier and his wife Mary, and Todd Poirier and his wife Lori; and his nephews, Jesse and Nicholas Poirier. Randy was predeceased by his father, James Everett Poirier.
Randy's family will be holding a private memorial service. Interment will be held this spring in the East Berkshire Cemetery.
