FAIRFIELD - Ray P. Callan Sr., age 64, passed away Saturday May 5, 2012 at his home in Fairfield.
He was born on March 18, 1948 in St. Albans the son of the late John & Lois (Smith) Callan.
Ray was a lifelong resident of Fairfield and graduated from BFA St. Albans class of 68. His favorite holiday was Christmas, and he made a point to get the tree as a family every year. Ray spent most of his working career as a truck driver, but his hobbies included woodworking, gardening, cutting firewood, hunting and fishing and four wheeling. He was also an avid gun collector and enjoyed taking trips to the Outpost gun shop. Ray was always available to lend a helping hand and he will be missed at future Callan family reunions, he never missed one.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Sarah Callan-Tougas and her husband Richard of Sheldon, Ray P. Callan Jr. and his wife Lynn of East Fairfield and Lucinda Waterhouse and her husband Jason of Berkshire; 3 grandchildren, Ashley Callan and Jacob & Jaden Waterhouse; his sisters, Linda Callan of Fairfield, Susan Lussier and her husband Daniel of Sheldon and David Callan and his wife Elaine of Fairfield; his god children, Elizabeth Laden and Madalyn Tanner and several nieces and nephews
A funeral service will be held Friday May 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls, VT 05450 with Rev. Leonidas Laroche officiating. Interment will follow in the Sheldon Village Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5-8 PM.
