ENOSBURG FALLS - Raymond Roger Paquette, age 79, passed away Friday August 12, 2016 at his home with his family at his side.
He was born September 4, 1936 in Sheldon, Vermont the son of the late Lucien & Marie Antoinette (Martel) Paquette
Roger was a resident of the Enosburg Falls area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. In his earlier years he owned and operated automotive garages in Enosburg Falls and Richford. He also, along with his wife, Anne Marie owned and operated Paquettes Crafts and Things until his health caused him to retire. They made various wood crafts including, cabinets, shelves, windmills, wishing wells birdhouses and lawn ornaments. He enjoyed working on his trucks, fishing, woodworking, dancing, listening to country music, watching birds and having afternoon coffee with his friends at the former Leons Diner.
He is survived by his wife, Anne Marie (Beauregard) Paquette of Enosburg Falls whom he had shared his life with since 1985 and married on December 22, 1999. He is also survived by his children, Brenda Elwood and her husband Ricky of Enosburg Falls, Kathy Paquette of Hyde Park, Norma Roberts and her fianc Eric Vachon of Enosburg Falls, Gerard Roberts and his wife Jennifer of Enosburg Falls, and David Roberts and his wife Kaley of Enosburg Falls; 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; his brother, Leo Coulombe of Berkshire; his former son-in-law, David Wetherby of Berkshire; and his faithful canine companions, Pacey & Storm.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave.,, Enosburg Falls, VT with Pastor Tim Stetson officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
