RICHFORD - Raymond Mark Paradis, age 51, passed away Monday afternoon February 1, 2010 at his home in Richford with his family at his side.
He was born August 21, 1958 in St. Albans the son of Raymond J. & Amanda (Vachon) Paradis.
Mark grew up working on his familys dairy farm and after high school graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1977 until he received an honorable discharge in 1981. He then went to work for I.B.M. for a short period and then entered the Farmers Work Program which sent him to Diesel Tech School in Enfield, CT. Following the completion of his schooling he worked for Willey Racines for 3 months and then for the past 23 years he has worked for Vaillancourt Transport and also worked part time for Mark St. Pierre. Mark had also served in the Vermont Army National Guard.
He enjoyed playing cribbage especially on Tuesday night at the American Legion Cribbage League, also camping at Lake Eden and most of all spending time with his wife and children.
He is survived by his wife, Dennise Paradis of Richford; his children, Elizabeth Paradis and her friend Joel Erno, Kati-Lyn Paradis and her friend Keith Couture and Steven Paradis all of Richford; close family friend, Dan Weiss of Richford; his parents, Raymond & Amanda Paradis of Enosburg Falls; siblings and their spouses, Joanne & Roy Edward of Shamokin, PA, Daniel & Laurie Paradis of Richford, Karen & Mike Douglas and Dianne & Scott Leach all of Fairfax; mother-in-law, Cynthia Hance of Richford; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law,, Brenda & Tom Smith of Enosburg Falls, John & Missy Delisle of Richford, Dennis & Mikell Delisle of Franklin, Tina & Paul McWilliams of St. Albans and Duane & Diane Delisle of Berkshire; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the East Franklin Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
