RICHFORD - Rejeanne Marie Solange Desautels, age 82, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 14, 2011 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.
She was born November 6, 1928 in St. Valerien, Quebec Canada the daughter of the late Aime & Hermine (Plouffe) Beaudoin.
Rejeanne was married to Germain Desautels on June 17, 1950 and they moved to Vermont that same year. She managed the family and the farm, first in West Berkshire and then in Richford. She was an avid gardener and also enjoyed quilting. One of her favorite pastimes was holding her grandchildren while singing. She was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Church and was a woman of deep faith, contributing greatly to her parish.
She is survived by her children, Pierre Desautels and his wife Ginger of Greencastle, PA, Daniel Desautels and his wife Deborah of Richford, Marjolaine Longe and her husband Patrick of Berkshire, Gilbert Desautels and his wife Sally of Richford, Sylvie Desautels and her husband Chris Wood of Tunbridge, Patrick Desautels of Richford, Raymond Desautels and his companion Marlene Chates of Highgate, and Renee Patterson and her husband Larry of Montgomery; 17 Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren; her siblings, Jeannine Pion, Norman Beaudoin and his wife Gilberte, and Maurice Beaudoin all of Granby, Quebec; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Rejeanne was predeceased by her husband, Germain Desautels on May 5, 2005. She is also predeceased by a son, Joseph Desautels; and her siblings, Lauriane Beaudoin, Marcel Beaudoin & Jean Regis Beaudoin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, 152 Main St., Richford with Rev. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in Richford.
Visiting hours will be held Friday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
