Rene Morel

RICHFORD - Rene T. Morel, age 96, passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Our Lady of the Meadows long term care facility in Richford.
He was born in Richford on March 13, 1919 to the late Hormidas & Wilhemine (Gagnon) Morel.
Rene was a graduate of Richford High School. On October 16, 1971 he married Nettie Poole. Rene and Nettie made their home in several different states throughout their life together including, Whitinsville, MA, New Smyrna Beach, FL and Richford, VT. He worked as a Methods Engineer for Whitin Machine Works. Rene had a love affair with automobiles, especially his Buick, and he also loved to play tennis. He was a member of the New Smyrna Beach Elks Lodge #1557.
He is survived by his nephew Ricky Doe and his fianc Mary Anne Duell of St. Albans; a great niece, Laura Cole, her husband Wade, and their sons Noah and Elias of Stapleton, CO and a great nephew, Charles Doe of Georgia. Besides his parents, Rene was predeceased by his wife, Nettie Morel; his sister, Irene Benson and his niece, Betty Doe.
Renes family would like to thank the staff of Our Lady of the Meadows and Franklin County Home Health for the exceptional care given to him over the past few years.
A memorial service will be held Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church, Main St., Richford with Fr. Karl Hahr celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held at the familys convenience in St. Patricks Cemetery in Whitinsville, MA. There will be no visiting hours.
