Richard Bessette

BERKSHIRE - Richard J. Bessette, age 48, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at his home in Berkshire.

He was born in Burlington on April 9, 1967 to Maggie Miller; at the age of 16, he met Bob Hemingway who took him in and raised him as his own.

Ricky was lucky enough to stay at home and raise his children, he loved to take his children on boating and camping adventures and taught them all the mechanics of a car. He was a self-taught mechanic and loved to restore old automobiles.

He leaves behind his wife, Brenda Bessette, whom he married on July 10, 2005; his children, Anthony Bessette and his wife Jayma Lamonda, Gale Bessette, Elizabeth Paquette and her boyfriend Chris Lavee and Donna Paquette and her boyfriend Timmy LaCross; his grandchildren, Conner, Anthony, Bryson, Amelia and Kadence; his step-children, Carrie and Eric Savoy; siblings Carol LaRochelle, Leo Martin and Ernie, Junior and Eugene Bessette; Several close friends including, Mary and Dwight Martell and their son, Marshall, Chris Paquette, Neil Kinney and Stacey Olstrike. Ricky was predeceased by his mother Margaret Miller in 2015 and his brother, Philip Bessette in 2010.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Lyle Willey officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service.
