ISLE LA MOTTE – Richard A. Fleury, age 58, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at his home in Isle La Motte.
He was born in St. Albans, Vermont on December 6, 1963 to the late George and Anna (Nelson) Fleury.
Richard lived for the outdoors and loved his life along the shores of Lake Champlain. He enjoyed hunting whitetail deer in Vermont and Ontario and fishing on Lake Champlain and Lake Ontario. Richard harvested many trophies over the years. He looked forward to hosting his wild flock of Purple Martins each summer, and tracking their journey to Argentina for the winter months. Richard also enjoyed working outside in his garden, and keeping his lawn in perfect shape.
He could be considered a jack-of-all trades with the skills he acquired through his many occupations. He worked for UPS, S.B. Collins, the family business Fleury and Sons Plumbing and Heating, and most recently Bonneville Brothers Construction.
He is survived by his lifelong friend Elizabeth Dobson; his siblings, Raymond Fleury, and Bernadette Fleury; nieces and nephews, Kelly Fleury, Carrie Baker, Neil Fleury, Michael Savage, Zane Savage and John Savage; godchild, Tyler Monty and his sister Abby; and “his- adopted niece”, Ashlyn Boles, and his beloved dog Gracie. In addition to his parents, Richard was predeceased by his dogs.
Friends and family are invited to Richard’s Life Celebration to include an open house on Wednesday, May 18th 2022 from 4:00-7:00pm at The Goss Life Celebration Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton, VT.
