ENOSBURG FALLS - Richard G. Prive, age 72, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, with his daughter & son at his side.
He was born in St. Albans on October 29, 1946 the son of the late George & Rachel (Streeter) Prive.
Richard\u0027s working career was focused on driving truck, he even owned his own 18-wheeler. He also drove truck for several companies including, McDermott\u0027s of Enosburg Falls, Farrell Distributing of Burlington, VT, and Wrightholm Farm of Enosburg Falls.
Richard was proud of being a member of the American Legion Post #42 in Enosburg Falls, he was also a member of their Color Guard. He enjoyed spending a quiet afternoon at home watching old tv shows. Most of all, he was always happy to see his grandchildren and watch them grow.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Bovat and her husband David of Springfield, VT, and Scott Prive of Enosburg Falls; five grandchildren, Max Messier and his significant other Abbie Holden, Dawson Bovat, Taylor Bovat, Harlee Prive, and Keegan Prive; siblings, Rochelle Prive of Springfield, VT, Mary Prive of Claremont, NH, Patricia Mann, Gwendolyn Kae Machia both of West Berkshire, and Helen Gallagher and her husband David of Bristol, ME; sister-in-law, Donna Jutras and her husband Michael of Sheldon; brother-in-law, Alvin Miles Jr. and his significant other Avris Billado of Enosburgh; and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Richard was predeceased by his wife, Shelba (Miles) Prive.
Richard\u0027s family wishes to thank Dr. Adis and staff from the UVM Medical Center Oncology Department, and the nursing staff at UVM Medical Center for the care and compassion provided to Richard prior to his journey to his final resting place.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Missisquoi St., Enosburg Falls. Interment will be held this spring in the Franklin Village Cemetery.
