MONTGOMERY CENTER - Robert Alphege Bouch Boucher, age 77, husband of Therese Boucher, passed away unexpectedly Thursday May 24, 2007 in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
\tBob was born August 19, 1929 in Chicopee Falls, MA the son of the late Alphege & Cora (Mochon) Boucher.
\tBob was a resident of Montgomery Center since 1987, where he was very involved in the Montgomery community and was instrumental with starting the Montgomery Center Recreational Center for the after school program. He was also a member of St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center. During his years of retirement he enjoyed woodworking. He made beautiful furniture and rocking horses for his grandchildren.
He was a former resident of Denville, NJ, and was employed at Chase Bank for 20 years retiring in 1986, as Vice President in charge of Overseas Banking. While living in New Jersey he taught 8th grade Sunday school at St. Marys Catholic Church for 15 years.
\tBob served with the U.S. Marines for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge he attended Bryant College in Providence, Rhode Island where he received a degree in accounting. He also received an MBA from Western New England College.
\tBob was a member of the American Legion Post # 12 of Richford, V.F.W. Post # 15047 in Montpelier, and V.F.W. Post 1400 National Head Quarters in Kansas City, MO.
\tHe is survived by his wife, Therese (Basilere) Boucher of Montgomery Center. They were married November 26, 1954. He is also survived by his children, Damian Boucher of Hillside, NJ, Mary Landers and her husband Richard of Byrwin, PA, Robert Boucher Jr. of Randolph, NJ, Elizabeth Beth Kreilis and her husband Edvins of Lebanon, NJ, Anne Hoffman and her husband Carl of Stockholm, NJ, and John Boucher and his wife Bernie of Montgomery Center; 11 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Henry Boucher of New York, and Richard Boucher and his wife Judy of Florida; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 3 brothers, Armand, Bruno & Rene Boucher; 3 sisters, Yvette Mochon, Rita Buchanan, and Bella Tierny.
\tFuneral services will be held Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 11:00 at St. Isidores Catholic Church in Montgomery Center with Rev. Frank Eksterwoicz celebrating the Mass of Christian burial.
\tVisiting hours will be held Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls.
