Alburgh, VT – Robert S. Boumil, 83, resident of Alburgh, VT passed away on October 29, 2021, at his home with his loving wife and daughters by his side.

Bob was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on October 8, 1938, son of John and Janina (Plachna) Boumil.

Bob, his wife Gerry and children moved to Alburgh in 1975 where they purchased a dairy farm which remains in the family to this day.

Prior to moving to Alburgh, Bob and his family lived in Dracut, Massachusetts where he had a variety of careers: Middlesex County Extension Service, Dracut Highway Department, Lowell Gas Company, owned a small paving business and worked on the family farm.

In addition to playing football in high school, Bob played semi-pro football when his career ended with an injury.

Bob enjoyed the camaraderie with the local farmers in Alburgh, helping each other with harvesting, planting, and spreading manure. Bob especially enjoyed his wakeup calls from Bubby Irick which led to the start of his day at Kay’s Restaurant for coffee with his farmer friends.

Bob was extremely proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren bragging to anyone who would listen.

Bob was predeceased by his parents John and Janina (Plachna) Boumil.

Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine (Barton); daughters Donna Boumil of Alburgh, VT and Kathy (Glenn) Boumil-Stimets of Highgate Springs, VT; a daughter-in-law Jo-Anne Ryan (Steven Barcomb) of Rouses Point, NY, and a son Robert M. (Peggy) Boumil of Honesbale, Pennsylvania. Bob is also survived by sisters Meredith (Robert) Boumil-Flynn of Dracut, Ma and Susan Ray of Lowell, Ma. and a brother John (Patricia) Boumil of Dracut, Ma.
