Robert "Bud" Demar

ENOSBUR FALLS - Robert M. Bud Demar, age 84, passed away Saturday morning October 3, 2009 at the St. Albans Healthcare & Rehab Center with his family at his side.

He was born January 22, 1925 in Montgomery Center, VT the son of the late Mitchell L. & Mabel (Arel) Demar.

Bud was a resident of Montgomery and Enosburg Falls most of his life. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. Following his honorable discharge he went to work on the family farm on the Hazens Notch Road in Montgomery Center. He also worked at the Lowell Asbestos Mines for 19 years as a truck driver and then worked as the caretaker at Alpine Haven. Following his retirement he spent his winters in Orange City, FL and in the summers helped his son Dennis on his farm.

Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, playing cards especially poker and going to deer camp. Most of all he loved his visits from his grandchildren.

Bud was a member of the American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg Falls, and was a life member of the Missisquoi Valley Sportsman Club.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis Demar of Franklin, Allen Demar and his wife Deborah of Enosburg Falls, and Gary Demar and his wife Fran of Tracy, CA; his grandchildren, Carol and her husband Jerry, Amy and her husband Joe, Liza and her husband Ryan, Nathan and his wife Jennifer, Kristina and her husband Shaun, Mitchell and his wife Kilie, Jessica and her husband Anthony, and Sarah and her husband David; his great grandchildren, Erica, Emmery, Cassidy, Devyn, Joe-Joe, Heather, Thomas, Abigail, Lydia, Allison, and twins Hannah & Kailee; his former daughter-in-law, Becky Demar of Franklin; his brother Mitchell Demar and his wife Therese of Montgomery Center; his sisters, Ruth Lepage of Huntington , MA, and Louise Wetherby and her husband Gordon of Charleston, NH; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Eloise (Pollender) Demar on November 2, 2005; his sisters, Rosanna Grant, Erma Deuso, and Emaline Potvin.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday October 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Deacon Jon Ramey of St. Isidores Catholic Church officiating. Interment will follow at St. Isidores Cemetery in Montgomery Center.

A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
