Robert "Robbie" Elwin Sweet, III

FAIRFIELD - Robert Robbie Elwin Sweet, III, age 41 passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans.

He was born August 17, 1974 in St. Albans the son of Robert Elwin Sweet Jr. and Gloria (Church) Sweet.

Robbie worked in the construction field all of his life and had a period of time farming on the John Gorton farm in Sheldon. He loved anything mechanical from cars to his current project of a Go-Cart. Robbie had a big heart and was always willing to lend a hand. He was fun loving, enjoyed a good time, had a great sense of humor and loved to tease and pick. He loved to be around his family. His friends will always remember him in the way he started a conversation by calling them Hotdog .

He is survived by his fianc, April Bushey of Fairfield; his daughter, Erin Sweet and step-daughter, Cheyanne Bertrand both of Fairfield; his parents, Robert & Gloria Sweet of Sheldon; his brother, Richard Sweet and his wife Hope of Enosburgh; his sisters, Laura Sweet and her companion Robert Wagner of Richford, Amy Sweet and her companion Jeff LeClair of East Berkshire, and Stacie Sweet and her Companion Roger Brow of Sheldon; and a sister-in-law, Lisa Sweet of Kileen, TX; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles & cousins. He was predeceased by his twin brothers, Daniel Sweet on August 4, 1988 & David Sweet on June 24, 2004; and his nephew, Joseph Sweet on September 15, 2012.

A memorial service will be held Monday, July 25, 2016 at 3:00 PM at the Sheldon United Methodist Church, Church Street, Sheldon. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the memorial service.
