FRANKLIN/HIGH SPRINGS, FL- Robert "Bob" Loeffler, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, October 10th, 2023 at the Northwestern Medical Center.
He was born in Bronx, New York on August 22, 1927 to Irene and Andrew Loeffler.
To serve our country, Bob graduated early from high school and entered the US Navy during World War II. After the Navy, Bob married Joan Fourre on May 26, 1951 and they had 4 children together. Bob was a volunteer firefighter for 14+ years in New Jersey. After 30 years as a Postal Clerk and Letter Carrier Bob happily retired so he and Joan could explore and camp all over North America. He was an avid reader and loved his fiction books. Bob will forever be remembered for his playful nature and his knack for making his loved ones laugh with his quick wit and mischievous sense of humor. Robert was often found lending a helping hand as a handyman for family and friends, no task was too big or too small for him to fix.
He is survived by his children, Joann M. Loeffler of Kissimmee, FL, Linda I. Pierce and her husband Terrance of Franklin, and Peter G. Loeffler and his wife Trish Nagey of Okeechobee, FL; grandchildren, Adam and his wife Nadine, Ashley and her husband Joe, Marlea, Kelly, Rose, and Allison and her husband Rob; 10 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Donald Fourre and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents and his siblings, Robert was predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Joan Loeffler, and a son, Robert F. Loeffler Jr.
The family is grateful for the welcoming and compassionate Franklin community, especially the neighbors and staff of the Franklin Homestead and Carriage House.
In keeping with Robert's wishes there will be no services at this time.
