Enosburgh- Robert F. White, 82, passed away on Monday, August 23, 2010 at the Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born on June 14, 1928 in Richford, the son of Elijah J. and Flossie Mae (Britch) White. On October 19, 1946 he married Anna L. Thompson.
Bob began working at the age of 17 at Atlas Plywood in Richford. While residing in Brattleboro, he worked for Cersosimo Lumber Co. in their lumber and logging operation as a truck driver, heavy equipment operator and mechanic. From the mid seventies through the early eighties, Bob was a mechanic for Boucher Farm Equipment in Highgate. Following his retirement in 1985, Bob continued his love of tinkering and fixing small engines as well as neighborhood childrens bikes and toys. A master wood craftsman, Bob enjoyed creating wooden lawn ornaments, frames and childrens toys. Throughout his lifetime, Bob enjoyed farming, fishing, camping and gardening.
In addition to his wife Anna (Thompson) White of Enosburgh, Bob is survived by 2 daughters, Polly White and her companion Andy Benoit of Richford and Robin Gilpin and her husband Matthew of Enosburgh; his grandchildren, Laurie and her husband Elmer, Paul, Dennis and his wife Winnie, Connie and her husband Bobby, Tonya and her husband William, Anna and her husband Pat, Adam, Bobbie and her husband Neil, MJ and his friend Tammie, Jessie, Kimmy and Jasmine; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; his sisters, Geraldine Tinny Britch of Colchester, Shirley Maggie Britch and Carol Britch and her husband Steve all of CA; several nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law, Lorna White of Highgate.
Bob was predeceased by a son, John White and a brother-in-law, Edwin Tinker Britch.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Maple Grove Cemetery on the Middle Road in Franklin. There are no calling hours planned.
