RICHFORD - Roberta Parry, 72, passed away Monday evening at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford after a brief, courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Burlington on March 4, 1943 to the late Avis Hayden and Aldoree Gaudette.
After raising her 3 daughters and caring for her husband, Harold after his stroke, she began a long career as a nurses aide, dedicated to caring for others. She worked many years at area nursing homes before finding a passion for long term live-in care, which is how she spent much of her later life. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing cards with family and friends. She had fond memories of childhood, growing up in Fairfax, exploring farmlands with green grassy knolls and apple trees, and seeing wildlife in its natural environment. She loved animals, with a special interest in horses.
Roberta is survived by her daughters, Faith Cassidy and her husband Mike, April Hatterick and her husband Tracy, and Robin Blouin, 12 grandchildren; Samantha Willey and her husband Luke, Tiffany Jones and her husband Jeremy Machia, Tara Jones and her significant other Nate Shepard, Jessica Hooper and her husband Jason, Melissa Gagnon and her husband Andy, Tiffany, Trica, and Tim Cassidy, Katie Hatterick, Dustin, Leah, and Kyle Blouin, 12 great grandchildren; Jacob, Julia, Makayla, Nathan, Ayden, Karter, Nataleigh, Conner, Tyler, Kellan, Lyra, and Lily, siblings; Pale-Moon Winslow, Teki Cass, Running-Deer Bessette, Hazel Ouellette, and Noreen Robinson, and her dear friends Gloria Sweet, Annie Button, Grace Martin, and Joann Young.
Roberta was predeceased by her husband, Harold Parry and her sister, Bessie Wilcox.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the thoughtful staff at Franklin County Home Health and Our Lady of the Meadows for the exceptional care and compassion Roberta received. In her own words, she was treated like a queen .
In keeping with Roberta\u0027s wishes, there will be no formal services. A private celebration of her life will be at the convenience of the family.
