Roger Berry

ENOSBURGH - Roger Wayne Berry, Sr, age 75, passed away Tuesday morning April 13, 2010 at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington with his loving family at his side.

He was born January 15, 1935 in Enosburgh, the son of the late Winfield & Florence (Hull) Berry.

Roger was a lifelong resident of Enosburgh. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the American Legion Post # 42 of Enosburg. He worked for McDermotts Trucking in Enosburg for many years as a mechanic & truck driver. He then worked for Pizzagalli Construction for 12 years retiring in 1997.

He enjoyed playing cribbage and was a member of the American Legion cribbage league for the past 40 years. He also enjoyed gambling, traveling, hunting, fishing, four wheeling, sugaring and listening to country music. He especially loved to spend time visiting with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Molly (Button) Berry of Enosburgh. They were married December 8, 1962. He is also survived by his children, Roger Berry Jr. and his wife Tara of Woodstock, Rocky Berry and his wife Jewels of Sheldon, and Theresa Duprey and her husband Scott of Sheldon Springs; 3 grandchildren, Jason Berry and his wife Maegan, Michael Berry, and Samantha Berry; several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. He was predeceased by his mother and her husband Florence & Leonard Longe; his father and his wife, Winfield & Betty Berry; and a brother, Arlan Berry.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Rev. Timothy Stetson officiating. Interment will follow in the North Fairfield Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Spears Funeral Home in Enosburg Falls.
