WEST ENOSBURG - Roger D. Stimpson, age 76, passed away Sunday evening June 7, 20015 at the Redstone Villa Nursing Home in St. Albans.
He was born November 19, 1938 in Landaff, NH the son of the late Christe & Hazel (Chase) Stimpson
Roger was a graduate of Enosburg Falls High School and a long-time resident of West Enosburgh. He was employed with the Vermont Highway Department for 28 years retiring in 1995. He also worked part-time as a truck driver for McDermotts Transportation in Enosburg Falls. He served in the Vermont Army National Guard from 1960 -63.
Roger enjoyed bowling, cutting wood and doing his yard work. Most of all he loved to spend time at his camp on Lake Carmi with Carolyn.
He is survived by his sons, Steven Stimpson of West Enosburg, his partner Holly Hiscock and their son Jeffrey of Chateaugay, NY, Christopher Stimpson, his wife Gisele and their daughter Morgan of Enosburg; his step-sister, Carolyn Allain and her husband Raymond of St. Albans; and his step-brother, Albert Tatro of Franklin; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn (Savage) Stimpson; his son Daniel Stimpson; his brother, Homer Rocky Stimpson; and his foster parents, Robert & Irene Deming.
Funeral services was held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment followed in the West Enosburg Cemetery.
A time of visitation was held at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
