HYDE PARK / MONTGOMERY CENTER - Romeo L. Lamore, age 90, passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at The Manor Nursing Home in Morrisville.
Romeo was born in Montgomery Center on September 19, 1926 to the late Anthime & Florence (Pudvah) Lamore.
He served in the U.S. Navy Reserve from 1943-44 and worked for the Vermont Highway Department for 43 years; he retired in 1986. He married Theresa (Lumbra) Lamore on April 24, 1947. Romeo enjoyed occasional casino trips to Atlantic City, vacationing in Aruba and most importantly, spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Theresa Lamore; their children, Gale St. Cyr and Jeffrey Lamore and his wife Jo Ann (Kinney) all of Hyde Park; 2 granddaughters, Chelsea Lamore of Johnson and Brandi (Lamore) Dannat, her husband Devin and their children Liam & Raegen all of Eden; sister-in-law, Connie McFarland of Montgomery Center; brother-in-law, Walter Lumbra of Johnson; and several nieces & nephews. Besides his parents, Romeo was predeceased by his siblings, Lionel, Leo Paul, Aime & Gene Lamore, Lorenza Sargent, Estelle McCammon, Pauline Meadows and Lorraine Despres.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Isidores Catholic Church, 169 Mountain Road, Montgomery Center with Fr. Karl Hahr officiating. Interment will follow in St. Isidores Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours.
