SWANTON - Ronald Eugene Bergeron, age 92, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Fletcher Allen Health Care Facility in Burlington of complications caused by a lawn mower accident.
He was born March 17, 1921 in Frelighsburg, Quebec, Canada the son of the late Eugene & Cora (Dudley) Bergeron.
Ronald was a farmer by trade, spending many years working and raising his family on dairy farms in both Fairfax and Swanton. After retiring, he kept himself busy building furniture in his workshop as well as tending to his many gardens. When he took time to relax, Ron loved reminiscing and would spend hours entertaining others with his tales of the old days. Ron was a man with a large heart, a pillar of strength that many leaned on. His constant faith helped him bear through life\u0027s experiences. Ron made a lasting impression on all who came in contact with him, and we who remain have much to spur us on.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Page) Bergeron of Swanton; his children, Joyce Martin and her husband Walter of Worcester, VT, Gary Bergeron and his wife Jenny of Marlborough, CT, Cheryl Charbonneau of Naples, FL, Sandra Kenyon and her husband Charles of St. Albans, Wendy Alexander and her husband Chris of Albion, ME, Bruce Bergeron of Enid, OK, Richard Bergeron and his wife Charlotte of Tolland, CT and Randall Bergeron and his wife Rene of Pleasant Lake, MI; 20 grandchildren & 13 great grandchildren, sisters, Marion Peterson of Sarasota, FL, Catherine King of St. Albans and Esther Dudley and her husband Myron of Highgate and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Besides his parents, Ron was predeceased by his first wife, June (Richards) Bergeron, his youngest daughter, Shelley Ann Bergeron, his great grandson, Paxton Hauselmann and a brother, Clayton Bergeron.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the American Legion Post #1, 100 Parah Dr., St. Albans, VT. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the East Franklin Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 21, 2013 from 4-7:00 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 87 South Main St., St. Albans, VT.
