Rosella Hutchins Hansen, of Alburgh passed away peacefully at the McClure Miller VNA Respite House on August 28, 2017 with her family by her side. Rose was born in North Hero, Vermont on September 14, 1932, the daughter of Aaron and Cora Hutchins. She graduated from Alburgh High School and married Herman Hansen, Jr. on July 9, 1951. They were married for 65 years.
Rose had many different occupations, interests and hobbies. She worked on the family farm with Herman and operated the very popular Rosies Snack Bar in Alburgh. She was also a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. Rose was an active member of the Alburgh Fire Department Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society. She loved playing bingo and going to yard sales. She enjoyed spending winters with Herman at their home in Deland, Florida and summers on Lake Champlain.
Rose leaves her three sons, Herman (Chris) and wife, Pam, Theodore and partner, Lynn, Thomas and wife, Lynne, grandchildren Crystal, Darcie, Jenna, Alyson and Johnathan and four great grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Ernest Hutchins. Rose was predeceased by her husband, Herman, her brother, Henry Hutchins and her sister, Beatrice Roy.
Funeral services will be held at The Kidder Memorial Home, 89 Grand Avenue, Swanton on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. The Reverend Kerry T. Cameron will officiate.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the funeral.
