Roy Judd

ALBURGH / ST. ALBANS - Roy G. Judd - In the early morning hours of January 16, 2010, Roy G. Judd, found peace with his eternal Father. Born on September 6, 1921 to Noah & Dorothy (Griggs) Judd and raised on the family farm on Sutton Mountain (Quebec) until he met the mother of his children, the late Anna Jean Johnson.

Roy worked many years on the Maurice Hammond farm on the State Park Road in East Franklin. On May 31, 1969 he married Ruth L. (Miller) Place and soon after moved to St. Rocks (Fairfield, VT) to work on the Howrigan Farm formerly the Abel Farm. Upon his retirement in 1987, they moved to the Pine Manor in Alburgh and resided there until October of 2009 at which time they made their home in St. Albans with their daughter, Tammy Cook.

Roy enjoyed visits from family and friends, taking Mystery Bus Trips with C.I.D.E.R., journaling daily, going to church. He also enjoyed attending fairs especially the Brome Fair. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in St. Albans. Roy was very proud to become a U.S. Citizen on September 18, 1997.

Roy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ruth Judd of St. Albans; his children, Dianne Comstock and her partner, Gary Wilson of St. Albans, Rodney Judd of Fairfield, Gary Judd and his wife Leisha of Franklin, Tammy Cook and her partner Leo Roberge of St. Albans, Patti Judd of Richford, Julie King and her husband Wendell Jr. of St. Albans, Deborah Bolio and her husband Arnold of Middlesex, Karleen Place of Fairfield, and Dianne Rounds and her husband Ted of Essex Jct; 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren to be born in 2010; siblings, Evelyn Judd of Ontario, and Sidney Judd and his wife Madeline of Sutton, Que.; sisters-in-law, Pauline Terwilliger of Fairfax, and Helen Miller of No. Troy; a special niece, Linda Kraak and her family of Ontario; and many cousins and good friends. Roy was predeceased by his parents; his son, Dale Judd in 2007; and a brother-in-law, Elden Judd in 2009.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at 3:00 PM at the Spears Funeral Home, 96 Dickinson Ave., Enosburg Falls with Pastor Patrick Hoadley officiating. Interment will be next spring at the Fairmont Cemetery in Sutton, Quebec.

A time of visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the funeral.
